How this works
- Roof data: Google's Solar API analyzes your roof from satellite + LIDAR imagery — segment shapes, pitch, azimuth, shade.
- Panel layout: We pick a balanced starting configuration (~70% of max coverage), which is the sweet spot for most homes' usage.
- Financial estimate: Uses a SoCal-blended retail rate (~$0.34/kWh) and a conservative self-consumption assumption. Your real numbers depend on your utility and exact usage.
- What this isn't: A quote. Real designs use 12 months of your utility data, hourly shade analysis, and the owner's personal sign-off. Same address can yield very different real designs depending on roof condition and your loads.
- If we can't model your roof: Google's coverage is excellent in SoCal but doesn't include every building. Newer construction, condos, and some rural addresses fall outside — we'll model those manually as part of a free quote.
